Doungim is a console designed specifically for tabletop roleplaying games, combining physical dice and miniatures with a digital map, voice interaction, camera tracking and a built in computer.

A UK built tabletop games console can turn a spoken description of a town, a historical period or an imagined world into a playable adventure in minutes. Doungim was funded on Kickstarter in under three hours and is live now.

Doungim uses one shared digital world in the middle of the table, while the people around it still roll real dice, move real miniatures and decide together where the story goes.

Doungim is being built around a creator marketplace where adventures, maps, art, voices and other tabletop content can move beyond one home game and become products other players can discover and buy.

Some of the most important feedback around Doungim came from people who could not always take part in a traditional game night. Those messages helped shape the way the console is being built.

Doungim could give museums, heritage organisations, local writers and creative teams a new way to turn the stories of a place into playable products that can be distributed beyond the place itself.
